San Francisco’s International terminal is awesome and truly international standard. United’s Terminal 3 is straight out of the 80’s and needs an upgrade. Virgin America’s Terminal 2 is amazing. All other airlines are cramped into Terminal 1, which I wouldn’t wish on any airport – there are two parts of it and if you enter in the wrong security line, you can’t get into the other part. I’m sure this has caused many missed flights. All in all, Terminal 2 and the International Terminal are 5 stars, the two other terminals need an upgrade and get 3 stars at best. This makes SFO a 4-star contender. Solid but not spectacular.
